Field Notes

Description:

It was like a flat top mushroom, but it was like it was a circle that was cut in half. It was on an old tree on the bark. There were three mushrooms on the tree. The gills were white and really bunched together. We saw the mushroom on a sunny but cold fall day.

Habitat:

The habitat was a nature preserve, in a park, with lots of grass and trees and a pond.

Notes:

We forgot to touch it or smell it because my dad saw a woodpecker.

Sweet! Nice mushroom and great close up on the gill. Do you know what kind it is? I'll try to find a match in my mushroom book.
