Field Notes

Description:

White mushroom about 2 inches in diameter. Growing in leafy mulch above beech tree roots. Dry top. Fleshy. No noticeable odors. Did not change color after bruising. Black underside. Ring halfway up the stem.

Habitat:

Forest floor just above beech tree roots.
