Field Notes

Description:

Golden colour moth a with dark waist band. The 1/3rd of the fore-body on the dorsal aspect has a deep golden hairy patch, like that of a lion's mane! There are two lines of dots across the terminal fore wings. The mid-dorsal body has a prominent white band, which is followed by thin white bands distally. Length: 35mm.

Habitat:

I spotted this beautiful moth on the ceiling of the entrance to our prayer room. This is a sub-urb building whose two sides are surrounded by bamboos and other forests. Temp: Warm.

Notes:

I have seen quite similar moths earlier, but the difference is its colour. I found it interesting!
