Field Notes

Description:

Any ideas concerning genus and species? I'm pretty sure this is a wandering spider. Large spider of about 4-5cm body length, grey/brown in colour with a dark line or groove down the centre of cephalothorax; long thick legs with conspicuous spines on first two segments. Photographed at night.

Habitat:

Lowland rainforest on the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica.
