After looking over the pictures, I'm withdrawing my original suggestion. It may be something like a horse or cow? What ever it was, it live a long life because the tops of the teeth are very worn.
Thanks, Logan! I cleaned it a bit and added a couple more photos. Odd to find it in the middle of a town. Wonder how long it has been there.
Hi Billie, welcome to Project Noah. From the teeth shapes we can tell that this is a herbivore. To me, this looks very much like a whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) jawbone fragment. A photo with the dirt washed off would make it more easy to identify.
