Hi J and kunzah, I don't think this that this is a Sagina species. It looks like a hair cap moss (Polytrichum sp.).
Thank you very much kunzah! Scotch moss it is! You can suggest an ID if you'd like!
Compare to: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/14431431 So, maybe it's Scotch moss, not a star moss.
I've seen this before. It's a star moss, perhaps! It was kind of tricky to ID, though...
