I'm including a couple of photos of the suggested ID's so you can see which is closer to the visitor you had, but what looks to be in the picture is the starling. I had never seen this bird before a couple of weeks ago when I visited the east coast. Hi Jackie, this bird is called a starling :) It's native to where I live, Europe, but has been introduced to N America. They're lovely birds when the sun catches them just right, they have red and blue and green in their feathers!
