Description:

Smaller ones are around an inch long. Velvety orange appearance. Didn't disturb them as I'm interested in seeing how they look tomorrow.

Habitat:

On a fallen tree, birch (possibly beech) with mostly deciduous in the general area, but conifers nearby.
