Field Notes

Description:

Trametes sanguinea or Pycnoporus cinnabarinus?
Bright orange pores and upper surface, with some dead grass poking through where the mushroom grew around it. The top was fairly smooth and the mushrooms were all very dry.

Habitat:

On a decaying oak log in the grass near a horse trail in Bearhead Hammock Recreational Area
