Description:

fist size, irregularly shaped clump

Habitat:

dead log, temperate forest

Notes:

Yet another cool fungi from Short Hills provincial park. It was the only one like this that I have seen in the park.

Thanks chester, yes, I did touch it and smell it and there was no pine resin smell. It was a largely deciduous forest with Oak, maple and tulip trees.
Did you smell or touch it? Looks like dried pine sap, was there a pine growing overhead?
