Description:

A medium sized fungi, maybe 1.5 inches across, quitedry to the touch.

Habitat:

Alpine Cloud forest, 2200 m.

No, I don't think it is P. squamosus, mainly because of the light scales. Polyporus squamosus has scales that are more in contrast colour wise with their background. You could use a magnifier to look at the pores and see if the edges are fringed, if so, this is P. tuberaster.
