Description:

White mushroom. My guide told me it was edible and he knew this because it was covered with flies.

Habitat:

Lacandon Rainforest.

I agree with you Randy L. about the flies and the mushroom. Thanks for the ID.
It does appear to be an edible Pleurotus species, but determining that a mushroom is edible just by the presence of flies is very bad practice.
Bizarre ,normaly when they say it's edible they give some kind of id,i think that Randy ,or Gully can at least give you an idea of what family he belongs,congrats again on the series,is beautiful and the flies give it the surprise "touch" :-)
