Field Notes

Description:

gelatinous orange fungi, in different stages of development. the last 2 pics look a little like Kraft dinner.

Habitat:

Carolinian forest, dead oak tree

Notes:

This fungi was a little hard to reach. I had climb over some rough vegetation and climb up a fallen over dead tree, but it was worth it to get some good shots.

Thanks Rieko but I'm still not sure if that is it.
Mariana2 gave me the name of my spotting. It is "dacrymyces stillatus." https://www.google.com/search?q=dacrymyces+stillatus&hl=en&newwindow=1&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=lvmeUIvPNqXw0gHk64HgDw&sqi=2&ved=0CC4QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=618
I think you might be right batex, I'm just going to wait a bit for confirmation. Thanks kunzah, yeah, couldn't resist the food comparison with this one. Thanks Perils as well. Hope your sister is okay, we didn't get hit too hard here in Niagara.
nice on eDAn. Just calling my sister to see what Sandy has been up to in Toronto.
Ah, Dan, you've finally caught on with the food analogies in your spottings! ;)
I'm not sure, but it looks like Witchs butter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremella_mesenterica
