Field Notes

Description:

Some kind of brown (Skipper?) Butterfly. I believe this to be the same species but #3 may be a different one...or at least the lighting on it is different.

Habitat:

In a wide, open field of native prairie grasses and within 1/2 a city block of fresh water and woods; usually on blooming wildflowers but seems to prefer this particular flower

Notes:

A small, brown butterfly with unusual wings that appears to be very human/camera friendly and easily approachable. Do to its size and shape I'm guessing maybe a member of the Skipper family...?
