Field Notes

Description:

50mm tall; 25mm across the cap; Cap very depressed at centre matching the adnexed underneath and very decurrent, skin of tan scales mostly missing showing white flesh. Strong chance of large open pores (like blackfoot polypore) . Stipe has a dark fibrous sheath and hirsute towards the base. Small volva with some hyphae showing.

Habitat:

Suburban back yard growing from eucalyptus timber buried on long grass..

Notes:

Very tired but a type I have never seen here before. The condition is poor and all parts may have been attacked and consumed. Yet to search for and ID.
