Description:

Dark brown butterfly with wings that resemble a leaf when closed.

Notes:

I was unable to photograph the interior of the butterfly's wings. When it flew away I briefly saw the interior of the wings. There were shades of red and yellow and eye spots that appeared to be blue.

Beautiful shot!!! I love how different these look throughout the US. The ones I see near my place eat plums and have a purplish iridescence.
