Field Notes

Description:

Almost spiny in appearance of the body, had almost an appearance of tawny owl behind head and tops of legs. Two blue circles like eyes on the bottom of each wing. Area of smooth "milk chocolate" colour behind the head. Around 2cm in body length, estimated 3-4cm wide but difficult to be accurate as wings not unfurled.

Habitat:

Found it on balcony of hotel, very humid and overcast outside, kept vibrating wings when the wind picked up but did not fly.
