The underside of the comma (in flight) had me confused. It just didn't match the records. Then I figured it out, the top pattern is showing through because of the light - DUH! DAve
You have several species on this nice picture. Comma, Polygonia c-album: http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/phpBB/gallery/images/upload/145015ac0e4a43dd00eb3a59ed1b7a42.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygonia_c-album European Peaock, Inachis io: http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/phpBB/gallery/images/upload/760a493bb631d0e204a64326feac1049.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inachis_io Purple Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echinacea_purpurea There is also a honey bee and a yellow meadow flower, which I can't see clearly enough to get a proper ID. Please, remember only upload pictures with a single organism or make separate spottings of each.
