If it helps, there were red berries on it so it looked a little like holly. Also I remember our guide telling us that it killed trees around it and it wasn't native here.

Sorry I couldn't get closer. I was taking the pictures from a boat. Anyway, you need to look at the description and notes for help I'm guessing.
