Thank you herbst.theresa, I only hope you do the same with other spotters that have a hard time id'ing their spottings :) Yours was truly interesting, so I tend to use more time if I feel I'm on the right track, but as I wrote, I could be wrong about it.
I'm thinking it's an unknown species of Xenox, X. habrosus is the closest I come, but I can't find any photo that has the identical wing-pattern. Other genus' is not even close and Xenox has only 5 species identified, none which resembles your spotting.
You're welcome herbst.theresa, I didn't find any with a matching wing-pattern, it could be pattern-variation within the species, but unless you find a photo of X. habrosus with identical pattern as your spotting, it's most likely a different species. Might even be a different genus.
It's most likely a species in the family Bombyliidae, the genus Xenox seems close and is found in Guatemala, however only one is so far identified in Guatemala X. habrosus. Hope this helps. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/51558-Bombyliidae https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?locale=en-US&place_id=any&taxon_id=133800&view=species https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/259572-Xenox-habrosus
