found it hanging off a twig. perhaps of an ant family considering the layers present in it.

Hi Nikhi. I am dying to see more of this nest! Would it be possible for you to take more pictures? The structure of the bottom is very unusual. Could you take more close-ups of that? And what is the pedicel like that connects the nest to the tree branch? And then.....I am sorry to be such a pest, but could you very gently cut it in half (since it is unoccupied)? The inside structure should be very interesting and give us a clue about what built it. It might also have some dead creatures inside, larvae or pupae or something. You should save it for a while. Saludos.
How big is this lovely structure?
i was told its of fireant...but i have my doubts and the fire ants build a mound and not a nest hanging off a twig.....i could be wrong though.....
