I agree with Emilie, R. pseudoacacia, leaves and bark are toxic, but blossoms are edible and tasty, I have tried it!
Black locust, Robinia pseudacacia. I don't know if the flowers are good, I never tried, but it is true that the blossoms are eaten cooked as beignets. In fact, the heating eliminates the toxicity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robinia_pseudoacacia
