Field Notes

Description:

I took a hike the other day on the back hill of my dad's apartment building that day and found this over-active butterfly. These days were dry and sunny, these fallen foliage and branches on the ground were crispy and dehydrated, so it was quite sensitive to take notice of any approaching movement, which make it difficult to snap a beautiful picture. I tried many shots, and these three are the best ones.

The wing of the butterfly is polygon shaped, the outer pattern resembles dead leaves (slightly mimetic), but inner color is bright yellow, which made it quite attractive while flying around (so as to seduce the opposite sex of its kind?).
