I agree a grape vine, the leaves at this point are probably being produced high in the trees, which is why you do not notice them.
Thanks Dane! Do you really think it could be a grape vine? It never seems to grow leaves, and it has a three inch diameter vine.
The second suggestion is the native one, the first suggestion is a european relative, probably not it.
