Thanks, Sukanya. I've had a couple of extensive trips through Africa, so saw many big cats. I didn't put myself into dangerous situations. I had a couple of close encounters with elephants. The scariest was a cape buffalo. Those things have no sense of humour! That was more a matter of climbing than running :-/
@Neil..tiger spotting is done in jeeps ...rarely elephants...I have done both....it is scary...but photographers have been known to whistle or snap their fingers at the tiger...but if it leaps you are pretty much a goner. The tiger is a large hearted gentleman...Old Jungle saying and that is what saves us.i am marking my tiger video for you.
OMG What happens if you meet a bear? Or a tiger (Sukanya)? Do you carry a repellent or just rely on speed? We have our fair share of nasties here in Australia, but bears and tigers would make me a bit jittery :-/
In Kanha National Park, India, they showed us similar marks and said it happens when tigers sharpen their claws on the trees...something similar happening here with another species, I think.
