Ocean hermit crabs. Do they have a specific name? Oh and these crabs were not kept, they were released right away.

Nice find! I moved this to the Arthropods section for you. There are different types of hermit crabs and they all have their own names. However, it might be difficult to identify yours since you only have the one photo. More pictures of the crab's claws, face, etc. would be needed to try to identify it more closely.
