Field Notes

Description:

I hope this tree is still alive in the spring, so I can identify it.

Notes:

I just think it's amazing how plants cling to the Earth. This tree is in trouble though, because of flooding exacerbated by poor development techniques upstream that silt up the middle of the creek, washing out the banks. At least one of the developers was recently fined for dumping fill dirt in the floodplain!

Thanks! I just hope it's still alive in the spring, so I can check out the leaves.
LanaSutton, I love gnarly-root pictures! Please change the common name field to Unknown and then check the box that says "need help with ID" (or whatever the wording is) and others who know trees may come and help you with the ID. Thanks.
