I'm pretty sure the large tree behind the palms is a type of live oak, but would like a species confirmation.

A live oak is called 'live' because the leaves are always green and they don't fall off so it is always alive.
I am sorry I don't know which tree this is. But is 'live oak' a variety of oak. Why is it called a 'live' oak.
