Description:

Short, almost weed like flowers. Their coloring tends to be bright yellow and they look almost like a sunburst.

Habitat:

Large, open grassy areas, anywhere grass might be.

Dandelions are given a bad rap, in my opinion. I happen to think a yard covered in lovely yellow dandies is beautiful. And edible. If not sprayed. EVERY part of the plant is edible.... young leaves are excellent sautéed in butter, dip the flowers in batter and deep fry them. Roast the roots and grind it up to make a passable type of coffee. And you can make a fine dandelion wine, I've heard. For medicinal purposes only. (Yeah, right....)
