Field Notes

Description:

one metre tall lush plant with many flowers and leaves.

Habitat:

Growing in road side wasteland among paper-bark trees and sedges. In a low swamp area near a salt-water lagoon and surf beach. Shaded swampy after rain

Notes:

This plant had Giant jumpers of jumper ants in it's branches and spreading out to attack anything that disturbed the foliage or made a thump on the ground. There was no way to tell if it is native or introduced. Early summer flowering.

The exposure has been pushed in a photo fixing software on a couple of these. Yellow flowers often photograph as overexposed and it needs to be fixed so the structure of the petals can be seen
