Field Notes

Description:

Platform or shelf-type, large fungi with brown tops and white bottoms

Habitat:

Woodlands in Glendalough State Park, Minnesota just slightly off-trail. Near lakes, wetlands, creek, prairie fields and farm fields

Notes:

I don't believe these are rare as I see them every fall in the park while out hiking but they seem specific to certain trees or areas of the park.

gully.moy-Thank you! I think I'll have to wait for now as I can't find decent links searching under North American Ganoderma. I'm getting a bunch of stuff on Lucidum but not under just plain Ganoderma. Argh. "-)
