I don't think its Pleurotus cornucopiae. The cap shape doesn't look right and the yellow coloration looks more like aging/drying to me. It was found in Texas too.. Pleurotus pulmonarius seems more appropriate to me.

Hi! That's an amazing catch! It looks like you've found Pleurotus cornucopiae var. citrinopileatus. It's an yellow variant of the oyster fungus.
