Field Notes

Description:

Unidentified chrysalis. My best guess is a type of owl butterfly, but that's simply based on what I could find in blind Web searches, so I could be way off. I like how it has a bit of snake head mimicry going on.

Habitat:

Found on a window screen

Notes:

If you look at photos #1 and #3, you'll see holes in the chrysalis where it had been parasitized.
