Field Notes

Description:

This tree stands roughly 6 1/2 feet tall. It was found outside of a house on Pinao Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. The leaves are shiny, pointed, dark green on the front and light green on the back side. The edges are turning brown on some dying leaves. This tree has sap flowing through the organism; pulling off a leaf would cause the sap to begin to slowly drip from the spot where the leaf was pulled off for a few minutes.

Habitat:

This plant was planted intentionally outside of a house. The spotter has not seen this in the wild. This plant is thriving in the wet, humid environment it has been planted in. Its natural habitat is unknown.
