Description:

Under 1 cm dark brown and white markings

Habitat:

This is the bark of a gum tree in a well-established coastal garden. daylight.

Notes:

Several identifications are looking promising although no exact image yet. The Seed Borer tribe Macrobathra sp. (Cosmopterigidae) The Concealer Moths Zoneptala sp. (Oecophoridae) or finally Xylorycta sp.. It is all guess work still http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/tine/icterogastra.html
