Field Notes

Description:

Very stiff flesh, grows alone and in clusters up to 3, pores instead of gills, grows near living trees.

Habitat:

Coastal Forrest, hardwoods and pines. Sandy soil, dead foliage.

Notes:

I'm in a Facebook group that I.D.s mushrooms. The two best guesses are Amouroderma and Ganoderma. I do not have a spore print or cross section.
