Field Notes

Description:

Possible Rhaebo haematiticus, this extremely small presumed juvenile toad, was found on Plantation road between Gamboa and Summit Panama. Located around 150m above the level of the Panama Canal. There has been some speculation by many on the ID but I have been been able to get a confirmation. Good luck and thanks!

Species ID Suggestions

Leaf Litter Toad

Rhinella alata

John do you have a reference to point to? One of the original suggestions in Panama was the Leaf Litter Toad - but we could not find any confirmation as for as juveniles are concerned.
