Look at the ID suggestion...then decide if you agree with it or not.
The genus for the toads in the US has not been Bufo for many years. Looking for a spade on the underside of the back foot does not tell you if it's a spadefoot or not, the toads have spades as well. They all use them for digging. To ID a spadefoot, look for the vertical shaped pupils. They will also not have any cranial crests or paratoid glands.
More like the red-spotted toad (Bufo punctatus). Under the hind foot should be a mark like a spade if it were a spadefoot. Though you don't have an image of it. The other is the shape of the pupil. Spadefoot species have a vertical pupils and most other species horizontal.
