Field Notes

Description:

Red round cap. Stem not really visible w/cap being low to ground. Whitish color on cap initially looked like it was nibbled on. I believe it is just a color variation spot or not fully pigmented yet.

Habitat:

Located in a County preserve. Growing through a layer of decayed wood along side a firebreak. The soil was basically a sanding soil in this area.

Notes:

Only one of these in area this date.
