Salamander

Species ID Suggestions

Small-mouthed salamander

Ambystoma texanum

This is a salamander, not a newt. I am having trouble finding a complete list of salamanders for Missouri, but it is one of the lungless salamanders. I would bet it is a leadback phase of the red-backed salamander (Plethodon serratus)
