Field Notes

Habitat:

This bird was in a small clearing off a service road at the resort that ran along side a golf course. It was a forested area on the fringe of the resort.

Notes:

I couldn't find this bird in my field guides.

Species ID Suggestions

White-collared Seedeater (female)

Sporophila torqueola

Liam, thanks for the ID and link. It looks like a female White-collared Seedeater, but the bill seems too big and light colored instead of black. And it looked a little larger than the other female seedeaters I was seeing there.
The Ani has a similar bill, but not the same bird. This is probably a female of some type of seedeater or grossbeak.
That billed it is so familiar. The bird I saw with a similar one it is totally different (maybe cousins?) but if it helps to ID it, here it is. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/15474347
