Field Notes

Description:

A little over a food and a half tall. Possibly a young cedar? Needles were very aromatic.

Habitat:

Stand of young loblolly pines.

Notes:

I didn't see any larger trees that looked at all similar.

Looks like the Texas mountain cedar, too. Juniperus virginiana for the eastern, Juniperus ashei for the Texas native.
Once this rain quits I'll go have another look and try to get a close up of the needles.
