Thank you for taking a look at my other post. c:
Too bad, but I'm glad you found another one.
I returned to the spot where I saw this slime mold, and there was no sign of it. There was, however, a different grouping nearby that appears to have entered the spore-bearing stage (I'm just guessing). I will post it as a new spotting.
Yes. Check it daily until it stops being 'goopy.' I posted images of Fuligo septica a few days ago at http://anybodyseenmyfocus.blogspot.com/2015/07/june-24th.html They show a patch of the fruiting structure as well as a macro shot to try and illustrate what it looks like. That will give you a point of reference for Fuligo septica. I've only seen Physarum polycephalum once, before the plasmodium formed its fruiting structure. There are some good images at http://www.florafinder.com/Species/Physarum_polycephalum.php It looks like this mold forms smaller 'individual' structures than Fuligo septica. Hope this helps.
Hmm. Is there anything that I can do to help you narrow it down further? I can take better photos today, if it is still there.
This looks like the plasmodium of a slime mold. It might be Physarum polycephalum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physarum_polycephalum or Dog vomit/Scrambled egg slime mold (Fuligo septica) https://www.messiah.edu/oakes/fungi_on_wood/crust%20and%20parchment/species%20pages/Fuligo%20septica.htm
