Great find! This interesting find is actually a type of plant. It is specialized and does not contain chlorophyll. Instead, it gets its nutrients from fungus that grows on the roots of some trees. These are the flowers that you see. Welcome to Project Noah, SneakyNic! Please take a few minutes to read through our FAQ page for general information on posting and other features of the site. PN is a great community for sharing your photos of living organisms. http://www.projectnoah.org/faq
