This is one of the tussock moth caterpillars. They have four sets of bristles and look like a toothbrush. Some of them have a female adult with no wings and they lay a cluster of eggs onto their cocoon. They seem to be on Acacia as your is and mine too http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7993881
