Description:

Not sure what kind of snake this is but we found it dead near the side of a road in the country, less than 5 miles from a city.

Little bit of a tough one since he is bleached by the sun and losing skin, but based on the little bit of pattern I can see, I would call this a gopher snake (Pituophis catenifer).
