Description:

May be a mycoheterotrophic plant (Hemitomes congestum perhaps?) OR a fungi from the Calastoma species which has not been observed in Oregon...thanks RandyL for the help!

Habitat:

Vivian Lake in Diamond Peak Wilderness in Willamette National Forest. Elevation ~6,000ft

Yes that seems promising.
I'm not sure any Calostoma species have ever been recorded in Oregon, if this is one it is a very cool find!
Weird one. Maybe a Calostoma species? I think the only other possibility would be some kind of mycoheterotrophic plant.
