Wildlife Spotting

It's an evergreen tall (15 m, upto first floor of the house) strong bush with several arm-thick main stems wavering up a huge network of smaller branches. The leaves are think, fresh green with a distinguished nerve in the middle. The smaller nerves in the leave are just not fish-skeleton even. The leaves resemble but are bigger than laurel leaves used in cooking.

In spring the 'tree' flowers: white, mild smelling 'candle-stick' flowers.
By August (summer) red berries turn black. The berries grow on their own stems and are somewhat popular with birds. The berries are said to be tasteful but we like to know for sure if they can be consumed in larger quantities.
