Field Notes

Description:

Mushroom

Habitat:

Southern Louisiana. Heavy clay soil. Very wet swapy area. Found growing on dead tree root.Usually seen as a creamy white with a hint of orangey pink.

Notes:

I normally see these or something similar as white with a hint of orangey pink. We have had an unusual week of below freezing. Also have had an extremely rare Snow event. We had 6 inches of wet heavy snow on the ground for over 24 hours. The news said that the last time we had that much snow was in the 1800's.
