Species ID Suggestions

Definitely a long-legged fly, I think from Subfamily Sciapodinae. http://bugguide.net/node/view/12491/bgpage I will add that they do not all have green bodies though.
Since there are so many different flies, it's often difficult to identify any specimen down to the species. On the other hand, there are still many many flies that have specific physical characteristics that can help with the identification process. Sometimes it's body color, sometimes it's eye color. In the case of your picture, the extra long legs on the fly suggest that it's a long-legged fly. They also have small, metallic green bodies. http://greennature.com/article499.html
